Adding a Forced Frequency Change Function to IFATC Communications

I believe quite a few players have encountered the “ghost server” bug while communicating with ATC in Infinite Flight.

What is the “ghost server” bug?

For example, suppose you switch from an airport’s Ground frequency to its Tower frequency (let’s say 118.40). However, you can still receive and see instructions being sent by Ground.

When this happens, you have essentially become stuck in a “ghost server.” From your perspective, you have already switched to the airport’s Tower frequency (118.40), but from the Ground and Tower controllers’ perspectives, you are still on the Ground frequency.

If this happens while communicating with IFATC in Professional Mode, the only way to fix it is currently to leave the session and rejoin the game. This can be quite inconvenient for pilots, especially during an active flight.

My suggestion

I would like to suggest adding a “Force Frequency Change” function.

The idea is that, when a player gets stuck in the “ghost server” bug, they could manually enter the desired frequency and force the game to refresh their current frequency/server connection. This would allow the player to recover from the bug without having to leave and rejoin the session.

I’m sorry if my English is not very good, and thank you for taking the time to read my suggestion!

I believe that if you manually tune out the frequency using and switch, it shouldn’t be an issue

Same here. Never had a problem.
