Warroad is a lovely little town in Northern Minnesota, bordering Canada. It sits right on the southwestern shore of Lake of the Woods, which is mostly in Minnesota, with bits and pieces in Canada. An interesting little geography tidbit - the Northwest Angle, an island on Lake of the Woods is part of Minnesota but is completely bordered by Canadian land. To get onto the island, home to about 60 people during the summer without driving all the way up into Canada and back around, you have to take a boat across the lake. During the winter, when the lake is frozen, one can actually drive across it. It’s the only ice based toll road in the US. The Northwest Angle is also the northernmost point in the Contiguous United States. The more you know!

Warroad has a small international airport, with double daily service to Minneapolis on Delta Connection.

Taxiing at MSP, heading for Runway 30L

Rocketing out of MSP with a great view of Downtown Saint Paul

Climbing above the Northern suburbs on our way to 30,000 feet

Heading over Lake Winnibigoshish, part of the Chippewa National Forest and Leech Lake Reservation

Making our gradual decent into Warroad over the Boundary Waters Canoe area, a stunning vast expanse of wetlands in far northern Minnesota, famous for it’s camping and canoeing. In 2023, 7 million people visited the BWCA from around the world

Flying parallel to the Rainy River. Minnesota is on the southern side, while the northern side borders Ontario and Manitoba

Flying overtop of Baudette (a very nice little town with waaaaay to many mosquitoes)

On short final over Lake of the Woods. Warroad’s runway 31 starts right at the edge of the lake

On the rollout after a rather firm landing on the short runway

Nice photos, this makes me want MSP as a 3D airport more and more so I can do these short hops with the Delta CRJ’s.

I’ve already decided what flights I’m gonna do from there.

Which are?

MSP-AMS or vice versa, MSP-ATL, MSP-DTW, MSP-LAX, MSP-JFK, MSP-CDG and vice versa, MSP-BOS, MSP-SEA. Basically all crucial Delta routes to their other hubs

The FBI is now at my door for looking at the missile sites

I’m cooked bro

Nice topic and pics! The entire CRJ series is under-used here on Infinite Flight, so I’m glad they got some attention today!

And if this sounds sus I mean the lakes feel wet 👍

You need to add another “o” to that “to” 🤓

Is this actually a real flight?

They’re outside your house now.

All very good ones!

Very cooked

Thanks!

We claim to have 10,000 lakes, but we’re modest. We actually have 11,345 (over 5 acres).

Thank you, and I agree!

I knew what you meant lol

Yes, huge thanks to him for undertaking this massive project!

“ mosquito” is the correct spelling.

It is indeed! Seasonally, though. The rest of the year is operated by Bemidji Aviation from MSP.

11345!!? Insane!

In that “too many mosquitoes.” You only put one “o” in “too”
