What’s the next thing that happens after you join a virtual airline?

You’ll be given a callsign, shown around the va, probably be shown a rank system, be told the rules, and just be welcomed by every member

And will you fly only one type of aircraft? Or any aircraft that has the livery of the VA you belong to?

It depends as each VA owner can decide this by its own. Please refer to your VA’s chef.

What we have at air france is a rank system where we have designated aircrafted for each rank. The only planes we fly are the air france livery aircraft

IFAF allows you to fly whatever you want, but you must follow our rules.
In my VA you have sometimes to pass a entrance test and rarely practical test…
