About auto throttle

Hope officials will add autothrottle to Airbus planes, after all autothrottle is what makes Airbus planes different from other planes

Hello, if you would be interested in a better auto throttle system, you can vote for that here

it is there in every aircraft…

The kind that automatically increases and decreases with the state of the aircraft

If you select a speed in autopilot, the throttle will decrease or increase to maintain the selected speed.

@virginatlantic28 Happy cakeday!

Anyways the auto throttle you are referring to has always been in the simulator

Airbuses use autothrust

The Airbus does not have an auto-throttle as it does not have throttles…it has Thrust Levers and Auto Thrust :)

To everyone else, the auto-thrust system has 3 (+2) detents, TOGA, FLEX, CLIMB, and then reverse. The angle of the thrust levers at, and after the climb detent do not command a direct relationship with thrust output, it limits the max available power that auto thrust can apply, without an override (I.e. Alpha-Floor). You could have the TLs set at the climb detent with the power at idle, because when auto thrust is engaged, the Climb detent (counter-intuitively) will be used between the acceleration altitude after takeoff, and landing.

Adopting an Airbus Autothrust system would be a great improvement as it would prevent the 100% thrust applications we get with the current system.

The flight director also would be nice to see in all live cockpit’s

Best for all feature requests to live in #features.
