How am I able to vector someone if they’re not on my frequency? Also not sure if this belongs in #support instead because I don’t know if it’s a bug or intentional, if it’s intentional, please could someone explain when you would use this?
Nobody can vector aircraft directly if they’re not on their frequency. Nor real life controllers either.
So it’s a bug then? Because I’m able to vector them and send them messages off my frequency i don’t know if it actually reaches them or not
I can help you test if I get the message
I just tested, I can give a vector to an aircraft when they are not on my frequencies. I think this belongs in #support
Ok, moving it right now feel free to change it regulars/mods if it’s wrong
Does it actually send a message or just allow you to drag?
Don’t know, me and @anon41771314 are about to find out, it sends a message we’re not sure if it reaches
The dragging works with any plane on the radar but nothing gets sent unless they are on your frequency. Comes in handy to look at angles.
Ah ok, I think I have my answer now, so even though it appears to be sent on your screen it doesn’t actually reach the pilot?
@TimShan05 …MaxSez: There are to many variables in your question to provide a cogent answer! What ATC position are you attempting to transmit a vector from, what is your zone/area of responsibility in the airspace layer cake, What’s the floor altitude & range ect for your position, What does your target Filed Flight Plan State, is he transiting yr airspace below the floor of your assigned airspace, on transition ect. ect. Answer these questions and I’ll give you the correct answer.
My gut answer to your inquire would be “Ignore You” unless your an Expert Controller who failed to check the Flight Plan then I’d send “Flying VFR”…(unless their a safety of Flight Issue TCAS initiated en-route)
