A380 Vertical Speed

Just a little question.

I regularly use the A380 and am wondering on what the ideal vertical speed is for it.
I don’t mind about weather and weight.
Thanks

Climbing or landing? Bit more specific please.

Personally I use between 2500 and 3000 for ascent, and -1800 for descent. However, it varies considering my flight

I like to start very early. On a typical 40 min flight Is I’ll ascend at roughly 2700fpm till 15,000feet. Then around 20 minutes out I will descend at 900fpm - I know it’s low but it makes for a much smoother flight.

Ascent 1000-3000, descent 1000-2000. Landing (touchdown) as always should be less than 350

It’s your choice, as long as you don’t go way over the top you can just choose a VS you are comfortable with. If you want to climb quickly go higher VS.

For ascent it really comes down to your weight. Ive found that when you are near MTOW you may be getting just 1500fpm with your engines at around 95% N1. However, if you are near medium weight or below MLW you can go 2500fpm below 200KIAS until you pass through the ceiling of the second teir in an airport’s airspace and then can move it up to 3000fpm once you get above 210KIAS and are on clean configuration.

Once you get around FL150 to FL170 you should begin incrimentally lowering your VS to allow you to maintain your KIAS.

At around 1500 fpm descent you get the annoying pressure on your ears. Thats why I never go over 1600.
