Pre-beta, I felt that I had mastered flying and landing the A350 in Infinite Flight! I was able to butter the plane every time and flying the aircraft was always smooth and the physics felt predictable.
However, in the beta, it is shockingly difficult to land the A350! I am sure it is not a skill issue, as I have repeatedly gone back to the non-beta version and been able to butter practically every landing with all settings the same, including motion sensitivity and null zone, control sensitivity, aircraft weight and landing weather. Even with all factors constant, there is a noticeable difference in ease of landing. I can’t put my finger on what exactly has changed, but it feels like the aircraft’s AOA has become much more sensitive to changes in airspeed, plus the aircraft floats more easily, so maybe there is also a difference in the ground effect. I also feel like the effects of my inputs are much less predictable in the beta, making my landings very inconsistent now.
It would be amazing if the source for this could be determined and if the physics could be reverted to how they were pre-beta! If anyone is curious about this, please try landing the plane in the beta version, and then in the normal version of the app (25.1) and see the difference when landing.
I am just pointing this out because this may have been unintentional, and it makes flying the aircraft far less enjoyable in the beta. If this was an intentional change, then ignore this topic.
On another note, huge thanks to the devs for all the hard work, because the beta is truly amazing and it has been great fun flying with it. Looking forward to the release of 26.1!

Strange.
I constantly fly the A359 - both on regular app as well as on Beta.
And just last night I flew from ZĂĽrich to Frankfurt on Beta and I cannot feel any big difference.
I am flying on iPad though- maybe that makes a difference.

Do you flare? Which speed and which flap settings do you land at? What’s your load at landing?
I start flaring about 70 to 60ft above ground, carefully, then at 20 to 10ft my descend rate almost stops and the flare slows me down for a soft touchdown.

Look, no shade intended, but that is a super hard touchdown… gotta be at least -250fpm on that one, which is far from ideal! Looks like a proper slam lol.
With regards to how I land, it really depends on weight. I calculate my Vapp using Simbrief. I land using full flaps, load varies upon landing but it’ll usually be between 180T and 195T for my flights… I come in on the ILS glideslope and start flaring around 30-40ft AGL, usually get me a landing VS of around -90fpm on the beta. Pre-beta, I would follow the exact same steps and consistently land at around -40fpm! Pretty big difference if you ask me!
Flaring at 60-70ft AGL is incredibly high, and I think you might want to consider taking that down to about 30-40ft as they would irl for a smoother landing. Realistically you might want to adjust landing technique to aim for landings under -100fpm! The more you try to get smoother landings using irl techniques, the more obvious the difference in landings physics will be… I also understand that you probably aren’t as familiar with the A350 as I am, since I guess you fly different aircraft very often, whereas I use the A350 on most of my flights - hence it would be harder to notice any difference.

Pretty good estimate about my touchdown descending speed.
I did lots of pattern works and landings at EDDF now.
I am mostly flying the A359 all the time 99%, but I learned that I actually know nothing.
My landings are horrible, and yes, the video above proves it.
I am sorry! I should be more quiet about things, which I don’t know much about.
Hey, I think you should still provide your opinion - you don’t know what you don’t know, and this forum is a place where you should be able to provide your opinion and help others if you’re right, or learn when you’re wrong.
Your landing was still better than the VAST majority of those I have seen on the expert server, and I’m sure that people who make topics all appreciate constructive and useful feedback like what you gave me!
Basically, please keep giving your opinion, because you will end up helping a lot of people, or you will end up learning more and improving your knowledge base and flying skills! Happy flying!
