A350-900 ILS Issues at RPLL and KJFK

Hello everyone, I am experiencing a strange issue with the A350-900 when trying to land—the ILS does not seem to capture properly. I have configured the frequency for the runway on NAV 1 and I am established on the approach, but the system does not engage. This has happened to me three or four times now at both RPLL and KJFK. Interestingly, all other Airbus models and even Boeing aircraft work perfectly fine and the ILS captures easily for me. Is anyone else facing the same problem with this specific aircraft?"

Are you making sure you are below the glide slope when engaging APPR?

I haven’t had issues with the A359 specifically with it.

The real issue is that selecting ARRIVALS route is really bad like example KJFK RWY22R coming from RPLL west crossing PACIFIC OCEAN the route is totally out side the red lines that leads you to the RWY I’ve tried all runways is all the same very very bad route not taking the aircraft to the RWY.

Not: my routes and Flight Plans generated from SimBrief

You could always just disengage LNAV and vector yourself onto the localiser to intercept the glide slope.

Thats standard procedure at JFK anyway in real life. It’s radar vectors. You can’t always rely on the published procedures to take you to the runway.

Thanks for your help will figure it out somehow

I also had that issue once at Changi, with the 787-9. For some reason, it did not bank at all even though APPR mode was activated and the glideslope was tracking properly. So I landed just to the side of the runway.

It happens a lot. I just realized that I was not at the right altitude to catch the glideslope. Some airports require landing from 8000 ft :slightly_smiling_face: because they are high altitude and surrounded by terrain.

No, for me I was correct heading, but slightly to the right of the centerline.
