So I’m considering doing an ultra-long haul flight in the A340-600. Does anyone know the longest possible flight using the A346? I know the time estimates can’t always be trusted, so I just was looking for some answers from those who have done ultra-long hauls using this aircraft.
i did FACT-KJFL and almost ran out of fuel lol
The A346 has the same range as the A345, right? If so I’d do KLAX-YMML. Longest possible I can think of.
Oh yikes. So only like 14.5/15hrs? What speed and altitude were you at?
I believe JFK - Hong Kong is the longest flight you can do with that aircraft, it’s about a 16hr flight. You will probably make it with about an hour and half of fuel remaining. However, I recommend doing this flight when you have some tailwind to guarantee the chances of actually making it, as winds vary the flight times.
Yikes. Doesn’t even live up to its estimated flight capabilities
hmm i dont remember…
Darn. I’d probably have to do like Mach 0.81 to get more than 15hrs out of it
Yeah good luck tho
I was able to do a 17 hour IAD-JNB in it with 6 hours of fuel to spare.
How??? It’s such a fuel guzzler!
Thanks! We’ll see how it goes
Mach .82 is a normal cruise speed
7,900 nm is what I measured.
Thank you!
