I know most of these probably don’t matter to a lot of people, and you can call me picky if you want. But issues are still issues, and I’m still going to point them out, especially for an aircraft we’ve waited 2 years for
Slats
The slats don’t extend far enough forward. On the real neo, there’s a much more noticeable gap between the slats when deployed. In IF, they stay too close to the wing
The stabilizer when at -100% position doesn’t seem to match the external markings. At -100% TRIM, the stabilizer is already well past the red position scale
The hydraulic wiring on the right gear also look broken. Some of them are sticking way out and hanging away from the gear instead of being properly routed and secured along the strut
Again I know some people won’t notice or care about any of this, and that’s fine. I’m not asking for every tiny detail to be perfect. My concern is that IF doesn’t really have a traditional of coming back to fix aircraft models after release unless that aircraft gets another major rework. That’s why I would rather bring these things up now instead of waiting years and hoping they will eventually be fixed
We waited almost 2 years for the A321neo, so I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect these modeling issues to be looked at. Small issues are still issues
I’m surprised by how that PW issue, alongside that gear hydraulics issue, made it into the game
But hey, thanks for pointing it out, hopefully they’ll patch all of them at the earliest
I assume these issues have been raised in alpha testing, as that’s what alpha testing is for, and those who contribute to the team know very well their role.
If for any reason, these were not addressed even when noticed, then there is a clear decline in quality. This is not to dismiss the amazing work the entire team of artists and devs has done, but rather that issues in alpha have to be taken seriously and listened to so that, at release, the entire community does not make topics like these that address a lot of visible issues.
Yes that’s pretty much my point. This isn’t meant to dislikd the work the team put into the A321neo at all. I just don’t want visible issues to be brushed aside simply because the aircraft has already been released. Whether they were caught during Alpha or only noticed now, I hope they can still be addressed while the aircraft is fresh.
Same here. I didn’t expect some of these to make it into the final release either. Hopefully now that they’ve been pointed out, they can get cleaned up in 26.5
When I first spawned into the LEAP Neo I noticed that there was something off with the engines, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I hope these all get addressed!
Let’s sense-check ourselves a little here. Ultimately, this is a game, and the models are incredibly accurate. They are never going to be 100% perfect, nor should we realistically expect them to be.
I think the work that has gone into producing such a trailblazing model is genuinely commendable.
Some of the cockpit textures are rough round the edges as well. But I wonder if it could be a LOD issue. Furthermore, the more detail they add, the lower the FPS so it’s a balance. But…there are definitely some things I would say are very obviously quality issues.
I agree that some issues highlighted are quite minor issues. However, the problems with the engines and the flaps are quite fundamental to the 3D model. I hope that minor adjustments can be fixed in a future update as this 3D model will likely be in use for 10+ years. And now that they have been noticed it would be a shame to just ignore them.
Of course we do enjoy the aircraft, and I really appreciated Devs for giving us this beautiful A321neo, and nobody expects it to be 100% perfect. The concern is that IF doesn’t really have a tradition of going back to older aircraft models unless there’s another major rework, so we don’t know if these issues will ever be addressed
We waited 2 years for this aircraft so I think it’s fair to raise these concerns. During WIP we’re told things can still change, but once it’s released, it can quickly become “it’s already released” or “it’s not worth changing because they have something else to prioritize”. That makes it hard to know when our feedback is actually supposed to matter. We’re pointing these things out because we care about the model, not because we can’t enjoy it
100% this. IF does have a bit of history when it comes to leaving 3D models once they are released, regardless of the issues raised. Hopefully this can be a case where the much vaunted ‘new content pipeline’ can be put to good use.
They’re not showstoppers but they’re also below what you would expect from a market leading simulator.
