A320 With Four Wheeled Landing Gear

Was just on Flightradar and saw the landing gear on this air India A320 was very different does anyone know why it is like this ?

For poorer runways in India.
More wheels better weight distribution. Many earlier soviet commercial planes have if for probably the same reason.

Air India "double bogey" A320

On some of air india’s A320’s the main undercarriage is composed of two wheels (like the 787). The reason for this is purely because some of the runways in India aren’t very well maintained thus the aircraft will not “crack/damage” them due to a bigger footprint making for a safer takeoff and landing. They are a few unique airbus and it would be cool in the game especially with global just around the corner. [image]
