haven’t seen the video yet but this sounds amazing! im definitely gonna be watching this haha.
That’s beyond awesome. It shows how loud and fast those things can go even though they’re at cruise. They almost sound like an F-15 or even an F-18.
#Wow!#
That video is truly awesome! I never knew it was so loud. Gives a brilliant perspective from there.
I never knew the A319 had that much power!! We’ve only heard / seen aircraft from the ground at slower speeds, or we’ve seen aircraft high up that are too high to hear as much.
All in all, amazing video!
The only possible issue with this video is safety-wise. Being so close to the aircraft could present the balloon and GoPro as a safety hazard and may cause damage to the aircraft either in terms of an impact with the fuselage or an ingestion into the engine. Considering how close the balloon was, there was most likely no NOTAM given to ATC (recommended with weather balloon launches) and could have presented a safety issue, even if it is a small one.
@N644US I agree, however if you look at the fine print underneath the video, they have notified local airports and filed NOTAMS and so forth - it is completely safely executed.
That is one close flyby. A new perspective on the volume of sound a plane can dish out at high altitudes.
Whow! What a sound, different from the ground.
If you look at the bottom it said a NOTAM was filed as well as notifying ARTCCs and Airports.
Something went badly wrong, somewhere. If that got into the engine the damage would be massive
Also, I’d like to add basically all of NY departure’s airspace (EWR, LGA, JFK, HPN) was covered in TFR’s and I was wondering why, well, now I know!
Sounds like a fighter jet!! Thanks for sharing
Very interesting, I wonder if the balloon was in airspace
It was the moment it left the ground haha.
Woah, that sound is simply unbelievable!
Ha! This is both amazing and dangerous.
Cool! I believe I’ve flown on that exact route before.
That’s so cool, the engines sounded amazing! Man that was loud, I’ve never heard an aircraft cruising from the outside and the contrails looked amazing. Very close call, imagine if the passengers saw it. Definitely would have scared me!
Wow, that is powerful. It really does surprise me to see tit less than 500ft from aircraft though.
