I feel the A318 in Infinite Flight really needs a full rework, as it no longer meets the high standards the sim has set with its newer aircraft. While it was once a solid addition to the fleet, the A318 now feels outdated in nearly every aspect—from its low-resolution textures and basic cockpit design to the lack of interactive instruments and realistic lighting. Flying it today feels more like stepping back in time compared to modern reworks like the A330, A380, and the 737 MAX, which offer incredible levels of detail, functionality, and immersion. The A318 has a lot of potential; it’s a unique aircraft that could really shine on short-haul and steep-approach routes, like London City to New York, but its current state just doesn’t do it justice. A proper rework with a fully interactive cockpit, updated physics, realistic engine sounds, 3D model enhancements, and live cockpit instruments would bring the A318 to life and make it a truly enjoyable aircraft to fly again. It deserves the same level of attention and detail that Infinite Flight has given to its other modernized aircraft, and the community would definitely appreciate seeing this underrepresented jet brought back to relevance.
Yea @nabilk11_777flyer. No one uses this as it is very rare to see in the real world and routes are limited. This bird would have been long gone if we had no ACJ jets or air france.
In fairness, I’d say it’s about time some discussion regarding reworking the A320 family (and the 737NG family) starts. They’re good planes, but compare them with the MAX, CS300, E-Jets or the upcoming NEOs…
Maybe, but only if IF honours the past purchases people did with these aircraft. I wouldn’t want to wake up one day and see the B737s and A320s were reworked, just to have them as Pro only stuff. That’d be disappointing.
While the A320 family does need a rework eventually it doesn’t need one now. I really hope Infinite
Flight reworks the 767, 747, 787-8 and -10, C-17, A330-200, A340, and F-16, while adding the ATR-72, and the MD-80 before they even consider reworking a plane with a live cockpit. It does not need a rework yet. It will in 2030 or so
