The country’s landscape is that of rolling hills which produce wheat and barley all year long. Now this was by far the Shortest Category in this challenge so far with only 4 countries but the D’s have been completed!

here’s what it looks like 🇩🇰🇩🇯🇩🇲🇩🇴

Well it has officially been exactly 1 year since I started this challenge. Through out this time and basically 2024 as a whole I have been flying only on the routes in this challenge and it’s been a-lot! Throughout this year I’ve finally completed the countries A-D. While many including me at first may see completing only A-D in one year as a reminder of how slow this challenge may be, I now see it as a huge accomplishment! It has been a really busy year for me and flying for me has been put aside many times and it’s been hard finding moments where I could fly this challenge. Yet through it all in just one year I’ve now completed 49 countries off the list with, 133 flights, 90 different airports, 48 airlines, flown to 78 countries, and nearly 300,000 miles of flying! This challenge has allowed me to see and fly into places on earth where I and I’m guessing many players never would fly to, if it weren’t for this challenge. Yes there is still many more flights, countries, and years to go, but I can’t wait to see where this challenge takes me and to keep exploring new lands! I also know this is a VERY quite thread that not many people follow but I just want to thank everyone who has been reading this thread and supporting my insanity which is this challenge! Let’s see where 2025 take’s us, starting with the E’s!

Starting off the E’s and our first country of 2025, were flying to our 50th country East Timor. East Timor is also known as Timor Leste and its population is mainly made up of austronesian making East Timor more demographically close to Australia and Papa New Guinea than its neighbor Indonesia. The country is also the only Asian country to speak primarily Portuguese and has the second highest percentage of Catholics in the world! East timor had a long and strenuous path towards independence but through it all, they achieved independence in 2002 and are the first new country in the 21st century.

Leg 50 — 🇪🇨 Ecuador / Quito 🇪🇨

Located in between Peru and Colombia we find our next country located right on the equator Ecuador. Ecuador is one of the most unique countries in the world for how much it offers compared to its size. From jungles, to deserts, tropical beaches, and even snow caped volcanos reaching high in the sky, all can be found in this country roughly the size of Arizona. The biggest city is Guayaquil located by the coast however the countries capital Quito is located 8,000ft above sea level and is the closest capital city to the equator. Speaking of elevation, Ecuador has the farthest point on earth away from the core being the peak of Chimborazo due to its proximity to the equator and its hight of 20,500ft above sea level. However Ecuador is most famous for its biodiversity being located on the Amazon Jungle and being home to the world famous Galapagos Islands off the coast in the Pacific, home to the worlds oldest living tortoises, sea iguanas, and the only penguins who live in the northern hemisphere.
