A Wonderful Christmas Trip to Zimbabwe Pt.1

Wondering what to do for Christmas during COVID-19? Well, I have a good idea. Maybe this Christmas, we can virtually travel since we cannot travel IRL during the pandemic. Have you ever traveled to Africa on Christmas? If so, how about to Harare 🇿🇼? Well, this will be our first time going to East Africa on Christmas to escape the freezer (St. Louis). Literally, St. Louis is a freezer, meaning it is very cold at this time of the month and eager to go somewhere warm. So, Zimbabwe will be our bet. Let’s right on to it as we start our first two connecting flight outbound to Miami and São on American Airlines.

Outbound
First Flight: American Airlines Flight 944 - St. Louis to Miami 🇺🇸
Aircraft: Boeing 737-800
Origin: St. Louis Lambert Int’l Airport (KSTL)
Destination: Miami International Airport (KMIA)
Flight Time: 2hrs 16mins

Good morning St. Louis. Welcome to Gate C10 as we board this aircraft with the TWA livery down to Miami as our first connecting flight. So excited to fly down to the 305 🌴😎🇺🇸? Let’s go

And off we go!!! An early morning takeoff RWY 12R from St. Louis heading to the southeast

And sunrise, rise and shine @ FL370 across Georgia with snacks served onboard. Enjoy this relaxing ride. We will be landing in Miami shortly

OMG!!! It’s MIAMI 🌴🌴😎 approach RWY 26R as we flew towards Miami Beach and turned around for our eastern approach. So excited to be in Miami but going on a connecting flight out of Miami

And here we are arrival at Gate E5 at Miami International Airport. Now a ten and a half layover. Really?, Welp we are eating at the airport LOL!!! to avoid starvation. Let’s spot some aircraft throughout this looooong layover

Second Flight: American Airlines Flight 929 - 🇺🇸 Miami to São Paulo 🇧🇷
Aircraft: Boeing 777-300ER
Origin: Miami International Airport (KMIA)
Destination: São Paulo/Guarulhos Airport (SBGR)
Flight Time: 7hrs 29mins

Wow, after a 10 and a half hour layover, it is dark at it is 9:00 PM and we are gate D26 prepping to board this beast down to Brazil. Let’s go cuz it’s gonna be a long night flight where will be Zzzzz.

A Miami night Takeoff RWY 26L. Let’s Go!!! Off we Go to Brazil for our next connecting flight spotting a nerd pilot on the American B777-200ER taking off RWY 8R instead of RWY 26L LOL

After dinner, it’s sleep time as we cruise at FL370. Good night! Til breakfast time

Rise and Shine as we are on final approach RWY 9R São Paulo Airport after 8 hours in the sky. It’s the Brazilian soil that we see upon arrival in this shining bright light.

Annd welcome to São Paulo/Guarulhos - Governador André Franco Montoro International Airport as we arrive at Terminal 3 Gate 505L from Miami with a two hour time difference, spotting a TAM Boeing 777-300ER in the background. So, we will spend one day at a hotel until tomorrow for Part 2 photo shots.
