A trip to Lord Howe Island | QLK DH8D | SYD-LDH

As Sydney was featured on the ATC schedule for today, I decided to do a little trip to Lord Howe Island. It is located around 800 km / 430 nm northeast of Sydney. The route is usually operated by a DH8B from QantasLink, but I had to choose the bigger brother, the DH8D, for obvious reasons. Here are some pictures from this amazing flight. :)

Server: Expert
Aircraft: Dash-8 Q400
Airline: Qantas Link
Flight Time: ~1h 20min
Flight Number: QF2262
Callsign: QLK262

Boarding at Terminal 3 in Sydney.

Lining up runway 34L in front of the King.

Now I should better hurry. :P

Bye Sydney!

Approaching Lord Howe Island after ~1 hour flight time.

Beautiful short final.

The runway might be a bit too short for a DH8D, but I managed to land safely. ;)

Such flights are nice to have some variety, I can recommend them to everyone! I really enjoyed the flight.

I did another flight from Sydney to a different island today, the topic will be posted tomorrow. Amongst other things, we will see Lord Howe Island again, but then from cruising altitude. ;)

Lovely shots, nice to see a Q400 S&V topic!
