A Tribute To Nevada

When somebody thinks of a state, nobody would say Nevada. It might be California, Texas, or another state. For this reason, I’ve decided to start a series exploring random states across the nation, whether in the Southeast or the PNW; every state should be highlighted. This series will occur roughly once a month.

The first state in my series is the “Battle Born” state. Could you guess? It’s Nevada! This group flight will take us between 2 of the largest cities in the state, above the desert, and into high, snow-topped mountains. It’s Las Vegas and Reno!

The biggest city in all of Nevada - it’s Las Vegas! The city was carved out of the desert and became a wild town for gambling, partying, etc. The Airport, Harry Reid Intl, opened in 1943 as Alamo Field before transforming to passenger service in 1948.

One of the largest Nevadish (is that how you say it?) cities is Reno! The city is currently known for it’s year round snow topped mountains providing amazing skiing experiences, but also for gambling just like Las Vegas. Reno’s airport has much more history than Harry Reid, opening in 1928. It is currently used for a lot of military purposes, but I truly suggest you read about it!

Our group flight will take place at 2300z, depart from KLAS, and land at KRNO about ~1h 20m later.

You can come on any server, but I (and I assume mostly everyone else) will be on the Expert Server! I’ve added this to the thread to eliminate confusion for others, so thank you!

just a bump!
