Mrs Sweeney also called AA flight services, reporting the stabbings, the hijacking by Middle Eastern men and the plane’s erratic flight path.
At 8.44, she told a manager: “Something is wrong. We are in a rapid descent we are all over the place.”
Asked what she could see out of the window, she said: “I see water. I see buildings. We are flying low. We are flying very, very low. We are flying way too low. Oh my God we are flying way too low. Oh my god!”
Those were the last words from American Flight 11 before it crashed into the North Tower of the WTC at 8.46:40.
Three other aircraft were doomed to make impact with either buildings or the ground on this horrible day. This day would and has been etched into the minds of every single person who saw it. I was only four at the time but I still have this image imprinted in my mind of the tv being on and my parents crying. There was a lot of smoke and fire and screaming going on in the tv. At the time I had no idea what was happening and all I was interested in was getting my toy back from the dog. 14 years later I humbly bow my head and mourn the loss of over 3000 people!
The world has not been the same because of this. Tighter security processes were put in place, stricter focus on allowing plane spotting.
Everyone at Infinite Flight Pictures Media📸 Humbly bows as we remember this tragic event that happened on 9/11! Everyone who died that day will not be forgotten. #westandbehindthefamilies
