A Sunny Saturday in Salzburg | Salzburg, February 12, 2022

Hi there!

It’s been a while since I last posted a topic here, mainly because nothing especially spectacular happened during the winter and if it did, weather wasn’t really contributing. With weather being great and traffic being quite interesting, I went to Salzburg, Austria a week ago to catch some winter charter traffic with alpine background. I hope you like my selection out of more than 50 different aircraft operating that day.

My Equipment:

Canon EOS 6D Mark II
Canon EOS 80D
Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS II USM (99% of pics)
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4.0 L IS II USM (for wide angle pics)

Backup / Old Lenses

Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS (for the 1% of the cases where I needed a wide angle lens, replaced by the 24-105 now)
Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS STM (for the majority of my very old pics, bascially completely replaced by the 100-400 now)

Amazing captures! Great diversity. Especially love those Arkia and PLAY neos.

Really nice shots ! Keep on like that ! ;)

It’s not Munich but it still has the magic touch by Moritz ^^

Those pictures make me realize how much diversity Munich has lost during the pandemic… Asian carriers as well as airlines like Royal Jordanian or all those leisure airlines only operating during summer leave behind an even stronger Lufthansa monopoly during the winter

Even the security conference is boring nowadays 🥲 but well, there’s still the 747-mania of next Sunday at least 👀

It’s Moritz time! Great shots as always 😌

Very nice photos Moritz! Always nice to see your posts. Had to look up Flyr and Play though, those are new to me (think I had heard of Play — they sort of replaced WOW right?)

Not sure if they could be seen as the successor of WOW but they definitely operate in the same segement as WOW used to do - the KEF-SZG route used to be operated by WOW in fact

Two of the best liveries out there. The night shot of A6-FMA, though. That’s something else. 🥰

Superb shots, Moritz! 👏

The flydubai actually trolled the spotters, there were exactly two free parking spots when it arrived and it decided to use the one that was worse for spotting - could have ended up like this transavia which arrived two minutes later…

Great choice of aircraft/pictures and some very rare/uncommon airlines included. Great pictures as always, thank you!

Some real gems as usual Mortiz. The snow peppered mountain in that 4th shot with the crisp 737 is beautiful!
