Working on an Air Force base does have its perks. You never know what may pop in or divert. Today we have an early morning visitor come by thats not too common. A B-2 was in route to an unkown location when it called a divert to KCOS. I was able to break away on my lunch break a get a photo of this illusive aircraft. Enjoy!
Serious question - This is allowed? Wouldn’t OPSEC come into play?
Its whats on the inside that counts, I dont play around with National Security and trust me half of SF was around this bird.
Gotcha! Wasn’t sure I know the AF got pissed at me for getting a picture of the U2 one time
Well just look at it, the B2 Spirit is an amazing airplane, and is extremely unique considering it’s lack of a vertical stabilizer. Great catch. 👏👏
My line badge also helps lol. But yea it can just depend.
That’s a great catch! Now how many times have I told @MrMrMan to get over to KCOS immediately…
My grandmother works on Peterson AFB and I’m hoping that she got a picture so I can see it. I doubt it, but we’ll see.
Nice shot regardless! :)
Hoping I can see it get airborne as well.
That will be cool
Funny thing is, I’m driving that way now…not that far down south though 😕
It’s anyones guess to how long it will be here, but I know plenty of folks that are waiting to see it take off. Myself included 😁
Is it related to this incident?
It says it’s on it’s way to Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster, Missouri
Ps. I can bump that dent out on the car there … looks bad @Asneed8706
That’s the exact incident. :)
Belive so, local and national media jumped on the story. It’s hard to keep somthing like this under wraps very long especially without a hanger. I know NEWS 13 KRDO Colo Springs was out here first thing on the commercial side which is a direct view to Pete
Security Forces are gonna be extatic to see that bird leave and end there round the clock watch lol.
I bet they will be
Thats just from grape fruit size hail lol no biggy
Man… I would love to see that beauty take off - will probably be at night though- I’ve personally never seen one
Lol photographed 2 of them last year leaving RAF Fairford on departure day with almost 1000 people looking from close by… not so secretive lol
