Today February 14th, 2026 is not only Valentine’s Day but also the day American Airlines under American Eagle launched flights between Miami, FL 
and South Bimini, BHS 
At a distance of only 56 nautical miles, it surpassed AAs existing Chicago, IL to Milwaukee, WI to become the new shortest flight in their network only by 2 nautical miles, flight time from take off to touchdown was only 16 minutes often times that is shorter than it takes me to reach cruising altitude when flying normally. It will run 3 times a week using Embraer E175s and will likely stay like that as the airport doesn’t have the sufficient infrastructure capable of handling bigger jets.
