Since LNAV has been confirmed for global, now we know we can go to sleep on a 15 hour flight from New York To Tokyo, but everyone is asking what will happen when you’re asleep and ATC is online, this may sound stupid but hear me out, this is already in the game, you notice when you get out of the APP you loose connection and you dissapear of off ATC’s radar, he/she can’t vector you, my idea is if you log off IF to sleep or go outside or do ordinary things. When you log of you dissapear of ATC radar, and you become ghosted or invisible to others so no interference with traffic, if ATC contacts you via on guard, you can get a notification and you can log back on and reappear on radar and become visible again and speak to ATC, scenario 1: I’m dead asleep it’s like 4 of the morning, I’m almost don’t with my KMIA-EGLL trip, London Approach on guards me, I am completely off radar, I am invisible to others and approach can’t vector me until I log back on, as soon as I log back on he gets his command list to vector me, but when he on guards me and I am asleep I get a notification waking me up, I get my vectors, land, and go back to sleep, all taking 10-30 minutes depending on traffic, it sounds stupid as hell at first, but if you read in detail you will understand better.
Center will not be in global when it is first released
Approach will though.
Let’s just wait and see what the system is going to be before trying to change it.
Yes but if you’re at FL380 you shouldn’t even have to be on their frequency
This isn’t stupid at all! It’s a great idea!
This is where mark says center will not be in v1 of global
I’m sure the developers have thought about many different possibilities. Global offline won’t be included in the initial release, and if you really wanted your solution to be implemented, you should vote for it.
If a TS1 ATC contacts me at 4 in the morning… let’s just say it won’t be pleasant.
What do you mean? Global will be available in solo…
In instances like that, why don’t you do your flight on Casual??[quote=“Cpt_Chris, post:1, topic:116874”]

This is a very great idea since not very many people would want to stay up for a 7 hour flight.
Approach can only on guard if an aircraft is in its airspace (50nm radius and up to FL180) so this won’t be needed in the initial release of global
In order to gain Global scenery it has to be streamed to your device which will be done via WiFi. They plan on using an offline use for those who fly offline but that won’t come with the initial realse of global.
But it will still be available in solo.
Although it has been mentioned that center will probably not be existent for the first while of global, I think that this would be a great idea in the sense that you don’t have to stay in the app and look around the cockpit of your airplane over and over during ocean crossings. My only concern would be the issue of your airplane just showing up out of nowhere and sort of surprising the ATC not knowing where you came from and they are not ready to give you a command. This would have to be well thought out with lot’s of details. Hope its added eventually.
But you won’t be able to use Global with Solo offline. Yet.
