A new route to my home

This isn’t technically a new route since Southwest already flies from West Palm Beach 🏝️🏌️to Islip but this is the 1st time not only JetBlue flies PBI → ISP but also the first time they fly to ISP overall. Today they inaugurated 2 services from MacArthur airport, the flight to PBI and the other one to Orlando 🏰🐭 with Fort Lauderdale 🏝️🛥️ beginning tomorrow not to mention that Southwest in early November will start flying ISP → MIA which will be quite fun to try out but here are some shots I took on this maiden flight from the 561 up to Long Island!

FLIGHT INFO

Origin: Palm Beach Intl 🇺🇸 (KPBI)
Destination: Long Island MacArthur Airport 🇺🇸 (KISP)
Flight Time: 2:15
Airbus A320-200 (JetBlue Shantay)
Server: Expert

I decided to take these photos as the airports social media pages would so here is the first pic of B6 544 lining up on Runway 10L awaiting departure!

All lined up now, any second till departure

And we have lift off! 🚀

mandatory @MyGoal_isNASA summon

VROOOMMM

Look over PBI and the land to the WEST of WEST Palm Beach 🏝️🏌️ Long Island here we come!

2 hours later here we are just off the coast of Long Island preparing the cabin for arrival.

“2,500” gear down, flight attendants prepare for landing

Say Hi to the spotters! 👋

Good touchdown to welcome JetBlue to ISP!

A01 will be our gate this afternoon and just like that, JetBlue is now at Islip and will hopefully be flying here for many years to come, meanwhile our A320 will simply get ready for the return down south back to PBI!

@Anthony_Gulluscio @Delta174J and pretty much every New York resident on the IFC, what do you guys think of JetBlue serving Islip?

I’m on the west side of jfk, so I’d assume so lol

I’m not like one of those Long Island kids who claim to live by jfk, I’m not a serial killer

According to www.nyc.gov, it states that living within the areas of the 5 boroughs makes you a NYC resident

I’m aware in terms of technicality that it’s part of nyc, but we stay away from Rockaway and staten island peoples lol

I’d say that living anywhere inside the city is being a New Yorker. Here who isn’t New Yorkers:

  • Long Islanders
  • New Jersey peeps
  • anyone who has never taken the subway in NYC and lives here
  • snobs who drive everywhere

Getting closer and closer to being able to start driving lessons, so I’ve been looking out the window and in my head imagining I was driving. Driving itself anyone can do, it’s dealing with the other drivers lol. Now I can’t take my eyes off the window, so scary watching these people and how they act 💀

Who actually drives in NYC lol?

Does that make me a non New Yorker? No…

Why? Mom works in one world trade, my school closer to the city, and people act like it 🏅🤡

I mean it is more suburbs than city tbh

@Southwest_2115 heres the test to see if your an actual New Yorker. Where you are in Rockaway… does the A train end before where you live or it still runs?
