A New Look for Korean Airlines

The amount of better livery choices in the 4th picture is astonishing… a shame.

Gotta be honest, the redesign is awful if you ask me. I just love the current one… :sob:

The livery is lacking colour and we will no longer call it the “pepsi logo plane”.

Everything noawadays is abut money unfortunately so I am assuming the less color means cheaper to paint. Does anyone know how much money it costs to paint that bronze strip down the middle lol and the korean language symbols on the front lol I bet by eliminating the red, bronze strip, and the korean symbols they are saving millions lol I bet this is the reason sadly.

Thats why we lost the chrome liveries.

That’s because of composite materials.

I bet the designer took less than 5 minutes to make this livery and probably it cost millions to Korean Airlines

Can’t forget that was in MS Paint

I thought this livery might grow on me; it has not. I asked ChatGPT to roast it. It nailed it, I think.

"Korean Air’s new livery? More like Korean Meh. They took a sleek, iconic design and somehow made it even lessinteresting—an achievement no one asked for. The classic sky-blue fuselage is still there, but now it looks like they just got lazy and forgot to finish the tail. That modernized Taegeukgi? It’s giving “corporate rebrand that tries too hard while also doing nothing.”

And that oversized Korean Air logo on the front? It looks like a budget airline trying to make sure you don’t forget who they are. The whole thing screams mid-tier airline that wants to be premium but isn’t quite pulling it off. If you’re going to change an iconic livery, at least make it better, not just slightly tweaked and washed out."

I feel like they should have done the rebranding logo a bit later as there are still much time left before the merger goes into action. Feel like they’re rushing a bit especially just suddenly revealing that they’ve changed their liveries. Honestly, if they used their old current logo, it would suit on it so much with some deeper blue color. Therefore, livery may be decent in lots of key points, however, there many downgrades about this livery such as their identity and reputation. Wonder how the designers did this. I feel like I could have done it better.

In my opinion it depends on the aircraft. On the 787s it doesn’t look that bad although I still consider it a downgrade but I recently saw an image of a B77W with the new livery and it looks atrocious. Generally speaking removing the pepsi logo was the worst idea of all
