A meteor? Nah, it's poop.

Found this humorous. Something fell from the sky in the village of Fazilpur Badli in Gurugram, India. Villagers rushed to where it fell and were probably seriously excited that a “meteor” landed in their village.

Except it wasn’t a meteor, but a plane decided to dump on the village. It dumped human dump.

Though I’m quite interested to know how this happened. I’m assuming it was the everyday passenger jet, so that shouldn’t have happened according to what Captain Joe has said in his video explaining what happens when we flush an airplane toilet.

On the other hand, this reminds me when i was small and was like “I hope this hits someone” before flushing an airplane toilet 👍

Haha, nice one :)
I wonder what type of aircraft dumped the waste. Surely not a passenger jet.

Yea, but here’s something from timesnowindia.com:

Directorate General of Civil Aviation to issue circulars to all airlines reasserting its December 20, 2016 order which stated that airlines would have to pay fine of Rs. 50,000 if human waste was discarded from their flights mid-air, a report by the Indian Express read.

So airlines can discard human waste from there flights…middair?

That’s very interesting, maybe they can? I wouldn’t think airliners would have the functionality of dumping waste.

I’m sure that in an emergency it… might help?
Either way, this is definitely an interesting story. Lucky that it didn’t hit someone…

50,000 Rupees is nothing for airlines in India. It’s Gurugram now by the way, they switched the name in April, something that it’s not “Haryana enough”.

I’m pretty sure this was an airliner, maybe the plane was overweight and they needed to dump.

Here’s a cool video explaining waste dump by the one and only captain joe:

Yep, @bobo2345, that’s what I watched, and nowhere do I remember him mentioning that the waste can be dropped out.

@RealAviation1974 yea I changed that 😉
And I read another source on the same incident where it noted that it weighed no more than a couple kgs. Even if it splt middair, I don’t think dumping poop is an effective way of reducing weight…😂

Can someone tell me how this happened at 30,000 ft 😂😂😂

Yup he’s one of the best youtubers. Fun fact water or liquids will disengrate if you dump them above 6,000 ft so only poop will fall not pee.

Yea…getting rushed to the hospital cuz you were attacked by flying poop…

It was not dumped to get under MLW. MLW calculation does not take into account dumping of the toilets, so even if you are the under MLW if you weighed the aircraft, you would still be over from a flight management standpoint.
Also, Flight Management Computers take in many factors to determine the amount of fuel and whether or not they will be above MLW on landing. So unless they put way too much fuel than needed, this is not an issue. And with both of these factors, no airline would dump, especially if there is a fine involved.

When I get a chance, I will add 3 or maybe even 4 zeroes at the end. This dumping should stop forever. Speaking of airlines and garbage, I remember this WhatsApp video of Jet Airways Ground Staff dumping their waste of the roadside, on my dad’s old phone.

Lol yea, 50000 is a joke. For you guys that aren’t familiar with Indian Rupees, here’s what 50000 can get you in India.

I’m pretty sure that the chemicals can sometimes leak out with some waste which builds up on the area around the tank openings and it will eventually break off and fall from the aircraft. Its not intentional but something that can happen but very rarely.

This has happened several times before, and it is usually caused by a failure in the valves that keep the waste in. One time, a 727 had an engine separation after ingesting a piece of its own leaked toilet waste after a failure in the valve, which is where we get the phrase “when the s*** hits the turbofan.” The MythBusters also did a whole episode on it.

It might seem so, but for airlines who can’t afford to give make you 100g overweight, it is indeed something they’d consider

And, money might not be the issues but the news about the incident puts a bad reputation on the airline

50000INR=782.5USD

That would have certainly been interesting, not sure how it would’ve happened

Does this not remind y’all of the movie Joe Dirt? He thinks he finds a large meteorite but instead it turns out to be a frozen ball of poo. He finds a peanut on the side and thinks it’s a space peanut.

That’s a movie?
Was there something wrong with that guy?
