A jamb or a bummer? Reverse rotation

Device: TECNO SPARK 8C
Operating system: Android 11
Why does the engine turbine rotor rotate in the opposite direction on the A320 series aircraft, as well as the Boeing 737?

Could be an optical illusion.

It’s not. They are indeed reversed - comparing the engines starting up in Infinite Flight vs real startup videos of the same engines on YouTube shows it clearly.

If it’s indeed reversed I see it as an attenpt to recreate the optical illusion - Not too much of an issue imo
Can you do a comparison below, if you consider it an issue? That’ll help the team identify it more effectively. You can do it with unlisted youtube videos

Here’s the 737. The exact same thing happens on the A320 family, with both engine options. While the optical illusion you mentioned happens as the fan spools up, it’s not a factor on the first few seconds following startup. The spinner cones also don’t seem to be as affected by it.

Great example of the relevance to the real-world visual paradox!

@AvioesEJogos Nice example with that irl 737 startup. Fascinating to watch, even though we’ve all even seen this with house fans or something similar.

Clearly some simulation liberties have to be taken to best display the representation of what we observe irl.
