Guide to Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport

Sheremetyevo International Airport is one of the TOP-10 hub airports in Europe, the largest Russian airport in terms of passenger and freight traffic. The route network comprises more than 230 directions. At the end of 2019, the airport served 49 million 933 thousand passengers, which is 8.9% higher than the results of 2018. Sheremetyevo is the best airport in terms of the quality of service in Europe, the world leader in punctual flights, the owner of the highest 5-star Skytrax rating.

Major airline alliances

Representatives of three major airline alliances use the services of Sheremetyevo: SkyTeam (Air France, KLM, CSA Czech Airlines, Alitalia, China Southern Airlines, Korean Air, and others); Star Alliance (Air China, LOT and others); and Oneworld (Finnair).

Passenger terminals

Passenger terminals D, E and F, as well as the Aeroexpress terminal form a single South Terminal Complex. The terminals are connected by pedestrian galleries with travelators, which allows passengers to move quickly and easily throughout the complex.
Terminals E and F are only for international flights. Terminal D is used for domestic and international flights.

The northern terminal complex consists of terminals A, B and C. Terminal A serves business aviation passengers, Terminal B - regular domestic flights, Terminal C - international flights. Terminals B and C are combined with the terminals of the Southern Complex by an inter-terminal passage, which includes two tunnels for the transportation of passengers on unmanned trains and the transportation of baggage. Travel time between terminal complexes, taking into account waiting time, is 4 minutes.
“Aeroflot” and “Rossiya” are operating their flights only from these terminals. But some flights of “Aeroflot” and many flights of “Rossiya” are also operating from terminal D. It is because of re-openning of terminal C and “Aeroflot” with “Rossiya” smoothly transfer their flights from terminal D to C.

As a conclusion:

  • Terminal A - business aviation, small business jets.

  • Terminal B - domestic terminal, only for “Aeroflot” and “Rossiya”.
Terminal C - international terminal, only for “Aeroflot” and “Rossiya”.

  • Terminal D - international/domestic terminal, many airlines are flying to/from it.
Terminal E - international terimnal, some airlines are flying to/from it.
Terminal F - international terminal, many airlines are flying to/from it.
