A great final into a very busy JFK

Very busy JFK. At least 5-10 arrivals behind me from what I saw. Amazing job by the approach controllers. Hopefully Santiago is just as busy as well :3.

Oh no! I feel for you. It always sucks when it crashes on final!

Great pic btw! JFK and SFO are my two favorite landings because of the cool views.

It’s my home airport! I always love it when I’m on a parallel approach with another plane. Super cool pics!

Wow this topic got a lot of likes. I appreciate you guys! Thank you so much :).

You mean New York* right?

On my first medium-haul flight, from LAX to JFK, the game crashed just seconds before touchdown. So annoying. I know do that route regularly and it works fine now!

Maybe. Maybe not. 🤔

The exact thing happened to me

Heya! Just wondering, can you check who your approach controller was? I controlled approach there for about 4 hours on that day, im not sure but I might have a very good screenshot of your landing, let me know if I was your controller and ill look into it :)

My approach controllers were @NJ24 & @Hornet11.

I see 4 planes, and you call that busy :/ Anyways great shot!

I never said my photo was busy…I said the airspace around me was busy.

Oh well I apologize

why FL300? isnt there less fuel burn at higher altitudes like FL350? especially on longer routes

Not necessarily. It all depends on the winds. I was flying a 106kt tailwind at FL300. That’s a good efficiency on that oceanic track which I flew. Higher altitudes don’t always mean more efficient. You can see this if you look at prognostic charts on Aviation Weather Center.
