A fun "realistic(tm)" way to capture IF motion blur photos, NO EDITING!

Hi IFC!

I just stumbled on something cool!

Apparently, you can set your camera on long exposure, to photograph another screen running your fav IF scene and VOILA! Instant motion blur with a bonus: The motion blur is REAL!

Here are some pics for yall to enjoy, keep in mind that all of these pics are UN-EDITED, thanks for reading!

:backhand_index_pointing_up:This first one is what you get if took a pic of another screen WITHOUT long exposure settings.

Next, the results using long exposure:

Thanks Schyllberg!

I also found out you can do the same with video (with weird long exposure effects tho for nearby objects, also frame drops… I filmed it with phone  but the concept’s there)
A380 moving long exposure

Intriguing - it doesn’t quite work in the second photo with the Ryanair with the replay timeline being blurred as well but that A380 photo is :fire:.

Cheers mate! Yep, specifically those Ryanair pics you’ll need a steady in-camera (static follow cam in IF) as well as steady hands otherwise everything gets motion blurred!

BRO.

You need to show me how you do that long exposure effect on videos, I really have been looking for something like that

  1. So on camera or phone camera, look for extra built-in features like Long Exposure, Star Trail, etc. Y’know, those camera functions that motion blurs moving objects except when you remain still?
Long exposure samples

  1. Then have your favourite IF replay playing on another screen and shoot it using one of those effects with your camera.

As simple as that, hope that helps!

I think you can just turn off the UI by holding the screen, and voila the motion blur is still there without the timeline.

I’m using iOS

  • It doesn’t matter what you use as long as you have two devices: One to play IF Replay videos that you’ve recorded and another to take a picture.

  • When taking pictures, find a camera app that have Long Exposure feature, or sometimes they’re called Star Trail Effects or City Lights Trail Blazer, etc.

  • Here’s a pictogram of what I meant:

Hope this helps!
