A crushing defeat

My IF Pro subscription ends in less than a week so I’ve started flying in different areas that I haven’t before, today I decided to try WSSS-KEWR. I took off at 10 PM so I would land at 3PM today after I got home from school. I brought my phone to school so I could make speed adjustments to land when I needed to. Around 11 hours into the flight with 6 hours left, I plugged my phone into an outlet at school. I looked over 10 minutes after and my 787-10 was nosediving straight in the city of Anchorage. My calibration was all messed up so I couldn’t save it. I slammed straight into the ground after a wasted 11 hours. Too bad I will never be able to do the longest flight in the world. Just remember to be really careful when trying long flights so that the AP doesn’t disconnect and cause the flight to end. It was a sad waste of 11 hours. And always expect the worst so that you aren’t surprised if it doesn’t go well :)

That’s okay, it has happened to all of us before. In fact, a couple of weeks ago, my British Airways A380 crashed en route from Singapore to London. I woke up to see 7 overspeed violations and the bleak CRASH page. Just remember that autopilot is not perfect. Always stay confident and keep flying!

I will when I get home!

I made sure to exit the game while at 25k feet when I realized I wasn’t going to save it, I didn’t want any violations

I have lost some of my really long flights and it is frustrating. I feel you.

It’s not always a case where it’s impossible to save. Just recently, I was descending into ZSJN and I accidentally hit the autopilot and went into a 17,000 foot freefall and recovered (with one violation because I was at 500 kts airspeed below 10,000 feet). Just try your hardest to recover, do everything you can to level out the aircraft, use flaps if necessary (even though IRL they’d get ripped off the wing), lower or increase throttle depending on the angle of the aircraft.

And this is the reason why I set interface time out to two seconds when I’m leaving my device, I’m still terrified this will happen to me one day though, sorry to hear this

What school allows you to use your phone and charge it like that during school hours at my school I would get it taken away. But this dose happen even to the best of us one time I was flying into lax 10nm out 160-200 knots and I set my iPod down run to the BR come back crash (not my proudest moment especially after the 15.5 hour journey) I learned from that know there is no way that will ever happen again unless if I stall out of control like on a 787 which imo is supper sensitive. But I know how it feels to lose a 16 hour flight I have had 5 that the device crashed on me but that ain’t stoping me just good luck next time
