Hello everybody and good evening from Nadi, Fiji ๐ซ๐ฏ I have been here for the past week and I generally enjoyed my time here. Especially the nice scenery, people and the water even the simple water bottles found in a convenience store were still very tasty and seemed much better than anything youโd find back home because they were all FIJI water bottles ๐ you can definitely pay me even $1 just to come back here or even for free. This place really helped me relive my Maldives ๐ฒ๐ป๐๏ธ trip from June and Iโm glad it did. Vacations unfortunately donโt late forever as today we have to begin the long journey back home to Florida ๐๏ธ๐๐ starting our return is a 10 hour flight on the flag carrier from here in Nadi out to Los Angeles ๐ด๐ธ before catching a flight on partner American Airlines to Miami ๐๏ธ๐ today we will just focus on the long haul flight on Fiji Airways. Nadiโs airport isnโt the biggest in this fairly remote region of the world but it does help people connect to other places via partners hubs I already mentioned the whole LAX/AA connect but they will soon begin service to Dallas/Fort Worth which will just strengthen the American partnership more. They fly to Sydney, Australia ๐ฆ๐บ and Hong Kong ๐ญ๐ฐ as well to connect passengers onto Qantas and Cathay Pacific respectively. Despite NAN being small, they still offer a good amount of shops and places to grab snacks and overall the airport was fairly efficient maybe a little bit of crowing in the first part of the terminal because of 2 Fiji long hauls departing one to Vancouver, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ and ours to LAX. The gate did start to fill up closer and closer to departure time but it didnโt prevent me from getting a good view of our aircraft today which youโll see now.

Taking me back to the USA ๐บ๐ธ funny enough is DQ-FAN the same exact plane that brought me here from LA ๐ด๐ธ last week. Itโs 5 years old but didnโt spend all 5 years with Fiji Airways with them only acquiring it around a year but letโs not waste anymore time and board this bird!
Because itโs the same aircraft, it will have the exact same cabin which is 33 business class seats in a 1-2-1 setup and 301 economy seats in a 3-3-3 setup making it 334 seats in total. Iโm even in my exact seat from my last flight which was 56K. Waiting for me like always was the pillow and blanket but no water bottle again so I asked for one before pushback and the flight attendant was happy to give me on and sure enough, it was a FIJI water bottle. However this time around, I did get the row to myself so I was pretty much set for this 10 hour hop across the pacific to California ๐ด๐ป๐ all we really needed to do was pushback and taxi to runway 20.
Taxi times at this airport is pretty much just non existent, we started rolling and like after 2 minutes we were on the runway ready for take off and as we were running a bit late and also lack of traffic, we pretty much took off like a ROCKET ๐ @MyGoal_isNASA summon
We climbed up to initially FL390 before climbing up to FL410 later on, and the crew began the dinner service quickly which is a good thing on an overnight flight were sleep is the main priority, I was served a Chicken Wrap which was great to see, a muesli bar and a bread roll with butter were provided on the side along with a beverage of choice which I went with Coke and I also asked the flight attendant if I could get another water bottle which she made my dream come true. This meal was pretty good in my books, it isnโt anything big but you donโt really need a lot of food on a red eye flight, as long as I can get a decent amount of sleep itโs totally fine with me to be served a relatively small meal. The crew indeed very friendly especially handing me as many water bottles free of charge and also engaging a lot with the passengers all except 1 guy who seemed a bit exhausted and was barely in the aisle but when he was, he was cool to so 4 stars here โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ Iโm pretty tired right now so Iโm just gonna hit the hay for a bit since I wanna catch that sunrise! ๐
The cabin was still asleep for the most part except for myself and one other person and apparently we had the same idea, I decided to check it out on the A350s tail camera and my goodness is it beautiful ๐คฉ wish I could see the pilots perspective. This was also around the time we flew across the international date line again which is the boundary between calendar days but as we are flying east, we go back a day instead of advancing a day like we did before so while we departed Nadi on a Monday night, we flew a bit into Tuesday and we cross the date line making it Monday AGAIN so we basically time travel on this flight, we take off on Monday night and arrive Monday AFTERNOON. So you can have 2 birthdays if you really wanted to. But thatโs enough of the date line and the sunrise and I just wanted more rest so I went to bed again.
Around 2 hours before our arrival into LAX, the crew once again woke me up along with everybody else with their galley noises, for breakfast today weโd be having scrambled eggs, potatoes and a sausage along with a beverage of choice which I chose some coffee โ๏ธ with cream and sugar, bread and butter and some yogurt also came along with it. And I was satisfied again with this meal, yeah it wasnโt the best breakfast Iโve had but it definitely is the closest youโll get to perfection high in the sky. The last thing I needed to do was go through the entertainment which provided a good selection for such a small airline, the map was really smooth and worked well and we of course canโt forgot about those A350 tail cams ๐ I decided to pop on some Young Sheldon as we were running pretty tight on time to watch Barbie ๐
After a few episodes in, the captain announced that we had begun our descent into Los Angeles ๐ด๐ธ and I simply kept the tail cam on for the rest of the flight and caught us entering the coast right around Orange County and it provided a nice panorama of the LA metro area which is just VAST.
Our approach simply consisted of flying by the San Clemente and Santa Catalina islands before tubing north by Long Beach turning base for RWY 25L and that brings us to now as we just experience the typical final approach into LAX.
TOUCHDOWN! Welcome back to Los Angeles ๐ด๐ธ just like my last experience with them, Fiji Airways did provide a solid product with a friendly crew, new planes, clean cabin, nice seats, great entertainment and meals! Itโs just quite unfortunate that they arenโt mentioned a lot and I honestly canโt wait to return to Fiji ๐ซ๐ฏ one day probably in their business class as well to see how it is! ๐ง
We disembarked once again at LAXs Tom Bradley International Terminal which houses the international departures and arrivals due it having the passport control and customs facilities ๐๐ TBIT this afternoon, wasnโt busy at all with only an Avianca flight from San Salvador, El Salvador ๐ธ๐ป a Japan Airlines flight from Osaka, Japan ๐ฏ๐ต along with a United flight from Tokyo Haneda and most of them used the main part of TBIT while we used the satellite section which just made things smoother. Out bags also didnโt take much time to come out and were in fact waiting for us as soon as we cleared into the USA ๐บ๐ธ and soon enough, a friend from nearby picked me up and we pretty much went all around the area until the evening where he would drop me off back at LAX for my flight to Miami ๐๏ธ๐ thatโs all regarding this flight from Nadi, Fiji ๐ซ๐ฏ to Los Angeles ๐ด๐ธ on the Fiji Airways A350-900 stay tuned for tomorrow for the American flight back to MIA and as always between now and the next time, see you in the sky! ๐๐
