Hello everybody and good evening from Los Angeles π΄πΈ I am currently on my way to LAX to catch the red eye back home to Miami ποΈπ with American Airlines on their flagship aircraft, the Boeing 777-300ER once again. During our layover we went to go on a tour of the freeways across the LA π΄πΈ area strange way to spend a layover but it was still kinda fun and we stopped by that In N Out π by runway 24R one final time and apparently the RWY is closed again as everybody was landing on RWY 24L. American uses terminals 4, 5 and Tom Bradley at LAX but they mainly focus on T4 for their operations here, there was a bit of a line to drop off my bag due to the 3 AA 777s departing one to London Heathrow, UK π¬π§ another to Sydney, Australia π¦πΊ and ours to MIA. Security on the other hand was a complete breeze thanks to TSA pre check and we were soon air side, I stopped by a small duty free shop to pick up some gum and a water bottle since I donβt believe AA would be handing us one as this flight wonβt be long at all. I soon headed into the passage way that connects ALL south side terminals to TBIT air side so itβs definitely a good way to get there without having to leave the secure area and also a good place and arguably the best place to view aircraft parked at gate 41 like our B77W is!

Taking me on this overnight journey back to the 305 ποΈπ will be N736AT, an 8 year old Boeing 777-300ER delivered to American in March 2016, ironically itβs the same Gemini Jets model AA B77W I have back at home! This plane came in a bit late from MIA and itβs spent the last few hours here on the ground at LAX before flying us back to MIA before coming BACK to LAX. I soon decided to make my way to the actual gate and sure enough it was starting to get packed along with gate 43 next door with another AA 777 headed to SYD but since our flight departs first, we began boarding first so letβs get on this bird!
All of Americans B777-300ERs have 304 seats with 8 flagship first suites in a 1-2-1 configuration, 52 flagship business seats in the same setup, 28 premium economy seats in a 2-4-2 configuration and the remaining 216 economy seats in a 3-4-3 configuration. Safran Flagship Suites can be found in their flagship first suites, Safran Cirrus IIs make up their flagship business cabin, Collins Aerospace MiQs for the premium economy seats and Safran 5751 slimlines for the regular economy class with 24 of these seats beings extra legroom βMain Cabin Extraβ seats. My seat will be on the edge of the wing 23L the seat itself is pretty basic as far as US carriers go providing a decent but not large legroom, seat back entertainment screens more on that later and adjustable headrests. Our view is looking pretty nice for this all night flight and next to us is a fellow AA B77W who came in from LHR and was soon off to cross the pacific to SYD. Boarding was completed soon after and we begun our pushback and taxi to LAXs RWY 25R exactly on time!
Our taxi wasnβt too lengthy and soon made out way to the edge of the runway and the captain without wasting any time, fired up those GE90 engines and we were soon off!
I tend to enjoy these LAX departures especially the whole turning over the Santa Monica Bay and flying off the coast of the ports of LA π΄πΈ and Long Beach and anybody on the right side can get a nice view of the massive metro area!
Our climb was pretty much uneventful and we soon reached our cruising altitude of FL330 and when I saw the crew wasted no time in getting the service done, I MEAN IT they even started loading the carts as soon as we reached 10,000ft. But I totally understand them as this is an overnight flight and they might want to maximize rest like majority of the passengers, except me of course since I WILL NOT be sleeping as this flights too short to have a good sleep and Iβd rather wait a few hours and sleep in my own bed. We were served some mini pretzels π₯¨ with the bag representing New York City π½π for their 2 hubs in JFK and LGA and a beverage choice which I went with a Coke, as I was planning to stay up for the entire flight I asked for a hot towel and surprisingly they gave me one and even to other passengers who had the same plan as me but they did disappear as soon as they could but still they earn 5 stars! βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ now onto the entertainment, the Panasonic eX2 AVOD in-flight IFE system is featured which includes Live TV the aircraft is also equipped with Panasonic high speed satellite Wi-Fi for a pretty hefty fee. So I opted out of that, put on some Barbie and enjoy this pretty sleepy cabin. π΄
After the movie ended we were flying right by Dallas and I got up to get this overhead view of DFW airport from the emergency exit door.
After a couple of stretches to keep myself awake, I returned to my seat to explore the rest of the IFE and quickly saw myself attached to The Big Bang Theory! And soon enough we fly by the west coast of Florida ποΈππ by Sarasota and we begun our descent into the 305 ποΈπ and we saw ourselves flying over the vast Everglades π as we go from one side of the state to the other.
We were soon approaching civilization again as we flew right above Krome Ave and soon enough we found ourselves in Doral once again with a view of IKEA, Dolphin Mall π¬ποΈ Miami Intl Mall ποΈ and the Dolphin Expressway/Floridas Turnpike interchange as we prepare to land on MIAs RWY 8R!
TOUCHDOWN! Welcome back to Miami ποΈπ and the end of this fantastic trip to Fiji! π«π― as far as transcontinental red eyes go, this was definitely more enjoyable than others Iβve been on I mean sure it was a widebody which meant more comfort but even non aircraft specific events really made me enjoy this flight mainly the crew handing me and a few other passengers hot towels which I totally didnβt expect as an economy passenger as they are usually reserved for flagship business and first passengers but it was still well appreciated! The crew were great, nice small service and overall the entire cabin was in great condition, nice job American π
With us landing on RWY 8R, we werenβt far at all from MIAs north terminal concourse D which serves as the home for American Airlines here in Miami ποΈπ anyways, here is the last view of our 777-300ER before she heads off once again back to Los Angeles π΄πΈ our bags did take some time to come out but not too long maybe like 10 minutes after arriving at baggage claim π I was soon on my way back to the parking garage to grab my car and give back home to Palm Beach ποΈποΈand get some real rest, as for this flight on American Airlinesβs flagship Boeing 777-300ER from Los Angeles π΄πΈ to Miami ποΈπ and this trip to Fiji π«π― that will be all and Iβm super happy you joined me on this adventure. Stay tuned for Friday as we embark to a familiar destination in IF but a new one for me IRL and August for my next and last trip of Summer 2024 as we return to school π« soon and as always between now and the next time, see you in the sky! ππ
