AUCKLAND to CHICAGO
A few weeks ago I flew Auckland to Chicago, I was really surprised to see that this route was flown by Air New Zealand because I feel like this should be the longest route in the world, but it only takes about 13-14 hours. This route is flown by Air New Zealand as ANZ 26 and they use the 787-9 which I used as well. Flight time was 13 Hours 6 minutes

Why is Chicago known as the Windy City?
- The Prevailing Winds off of Lake Michigan create different pockets of Air pressure causing strong winds
- The airports of Chicago are so close to downtown that it is said that jet engines cause wind felt throughout the city
- People were known to be “Full of hot air” and big headed in the 1920’s and they were called winders
