A Bustling California Day

Photos were edited on an iPad using Apple’s filters and other features.

The flight was United 371 using a Boeing 737-800, spawning in KSFO at 18:22Z and parking at KSAN at 20:46Z

Lined up in front of a beautiful Alaskan livery on runway 1R

Rotation right on the intersection!

Departing the packed Bay Area

Cruising over the desert at FL380

Turning inland onto KSAN’s Runway 27 right downwind

Go around checklist - gear up, flaps to takeoff setting, and TOGA thrust!

After a trip around northwest Mexico and some good luck that we had enough fuel, a smooth touchdown on the centerline.

Great photos! It’s nice having another UA new livery. Although I think that aircraft is Alaska Airlines More To Love Livery.

Nice picture, what was the go-around cause.

On photo #6, 7 I noticed a plane on the runway maybe it could be that

Oh I see it now, I had a go around at KSFO due to a plane landing on an intersecting runway, it was a late go around too, I was trying to find a way to safely land but it didn’t work and I went around.

Yep, the controller lined up someone but wasn’t quite able to squeeze them out in time.

How did it take you 2:23 to fly a 1hr route?

Good question! The times I listed are from spawn to despawn, actual flight time was 1hr, 47mins. The approach controller had a weird thing after the GA where my messages weren’t flashing orange on his screen, so he forgot about me after he gave me a heading to the South. Long story short, I ended up pretty far into Mexico but was vectored back eventually.

Ah, I see. Technology is great when it wants to work.
