A bit more realism/Switching pilot flying

As I’ve spent much of the year flying frames without a FO cam or single pilot operations, this has never occurred to me.

Today(when doing my usual outbound/inbound service), I suddenly thought to simulate the captain flying the outbound leg & the FO flying the inbound as I know they do frequently in real life where permitted.

I don’t know if anyone else here does this, but after flying on IF for a few years, I found it to add something fresh to my flying & it does feel different taking off & landing in the right seat(the HUD aims just a step right of the center line which needs to be taken into account when taking off & landing).

Just a suggestion for those looking for little ways to inject more realism & something new into their flying 🫡

I’ve always done this, it’s nice to see someone else using the FO camera.

I use it occasionally myself. First 10 minutes or so are confusing but very quickly I get the hang of everything being flipped.

I’m boring, I only use the HUD. 😅

If I’m doing long haul then it depends, let’s say I’m flying Delta from LHR - MSP (like I did yesterday) I flew with the FO camera because I’m real life most probably the FO would’ve flown that part.

This, and occasionally moving the exterior camera out onto the stairs when parked lol

Yesterday I let the FO fly the gusty leg back from Amsterdam to Barcelona. He was saying “your aircraft” on final, but I had my hands behind my head & feet up on the dash 😎

He did alright 👍🏻

I think I should do this. I need to try fly in the FO cam in the sim as I rarely have done so. I’ll give it my best shot. :) 😄
