I’m sorry but the way the pic is taken it just looks that way.
That’s why they drop first using gravity, then the missiles launch to their destination away from the a/c. See the third picture.

I’m pretty sure it’s not a middle but a sonar for detecting submarines I believe. I also believe it’s a sub hunting aircraft

The RAF ordered 9 of these beasts too - we have been left a little exposed on the anti sub role since the Nimrod was grounded.
Putting bombs, depth charges and missiles on a 737 though - genius. It’s like turning a docile pet rabbit in to a honey badger.
