Welcome to the stunning southern Thai province of Phuket (ภูเก็ต)! It is the largest island in Thailand and is home to about 449,000 people! Phuket has very rich history dating back many centuries! throughout the 17th century, Phuket was a major trading post for the maritime Silk Road, from Europe to the far reaches of Asia and Oceania for the French, British, and Dutch. The island holds much cultural significance, having over 25 Hindu and Buddhist temples and monuments! Today, Phuket has a thriving tourism industry, and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in southeast Asia!
