777-300ER Fuel burn Long Hauls (Autopilot Mode)

Could anyone share their 777-300ER fuel consumption performance when operating in autopilot mode? My figures seem quite inaccurate on ultra long-haul sectors — I recall a 19-hour flight consuming roughly 50,000 kilograms of fuel.

AP+ burns significantly less fuel than it should.

i mean Is there any way to roughly calculate how much fuel I actually need? I’ve noticed that when I land, I still have around 70–80% of my fuel left.

I have actually not played since AP+ was introduced so I’m not sure, I’ll pass this one to @BennyBoy_Alpha :joy:

I spent some time tracking my fuel burn with the C-17, so while my figures wouldn’t match, I’ll share my method. Basically I used SimBrief to plan my flights, and then I kept a notebook, jotting down times, fuel burns (both predicted and actual), and whether or not the flight used AP+. I would do a flight without AP+, then do one with it. Even though there might be a slight variation between the flights due to wind change and environmental aspects, I did it enough times that it was negligible. Basically I found that a Fuel Factor of M15 gave me the correct fuel amount when using SimBrief. Idk if this helps, but it sure has helped me keep track of accurate fuel burn.

I’ve done a lots flights on 737 max and figure out how much fuel it needs, and it’s pretty accurate. But the 777’s fuel burn is really inconsistent — I’ve flown the same route many times, and the results vary a lot. I give up

Yeah, I am not sure what the factors are, but the variation is great! Basically, keep track for a lot of flights, and you’ll start to see the patterns.

That sounds good! I ‘ll give it a try

Would the M15 fuel factor apply to most aircraft, or only the B777-300ER? I also use SimBrief for my flight plans and I tend to always land overweight due to excessive fuel.

I basically never use AP+ at the moment so I’m just as unqualified to answer :joy:

I deleted most of my old flight data, so I’ll have to start tracking everything again. After that, I’ll try recalculating with different fuel factors (anywhere from M15 to M50) and fly the same route again to see which one’s the most accurate. It’s gonna take a bit of time, but oh well — that’s part of the fun.

ya i get godly performance on the 777s now

Damn, we’re supposed to be the fuel burn sources and we’re slacking :sob:

I flew for 18 hours and burned approximately 55,000 kg of fuel, which aligns closely with SimBrief’s M62 profile. I’ll perform another flight tonight to confirm the result. Using M15 tends to leave a significant fuel surplus. I’d recommend using the M62 profile when planning with AP, then adding around 1 hours of reserve fuel (about 14,000 kg). That should leave you with a reasonable amount of fuel upon arrival, without exceeding expectations.
