777-200ER Landing/Takeoff Trim?

Hey everyone!

I’m currently flying the 777-200ER, and I’m wondering what the best takeoff and landing trims are for this aircraft.

Cheers!

Astreal

I use 30% for takeoff and 20% for landing.

I’ve seen people use up to 40% for landing though.

I personally use 30% all the way, but that’s personal use and not real world.

40% for takeoff and slowly decrease it to 25-30% for cruise. Landing for me is 30-40%. Whatever floats your boat

I do 20% on takeoff. 0% on cruise sometimes -5% or +5% on cruise. 25-30% on landing

Thanks for all your tips,

I’m probably going to use 30% on takeoff and 35% on landing. I don’t usually use trim during cruise, should I?

Cheers!

Ideally you would trim the airplane during cruise to maintain level flight with no input on the control column from the AP. In IF, this is achieved by adding trim until the pink line on the right of the trim control box disappears. Doing this maximizes your fuel efficiency.

Hi @Chitown,

That sounds very useful, I will try it!

Cheers!

Hi again,

Such as right now, the pink bar is gone by my trim is set at 10%, is that normal for cruise?

Astreal

Depends on the aircraft, speed, load, etc. That’s fairly normal for a 737.

I’m currently flying a 777-200ER,

It is at 42% load currently.

If you see no pink line, you are trimmed optimally for the conditions.
