767 sighted at buffalo!

Would’nt be weird if we see a 767 on buffalo airport’s taxiways. But actually I saw one today while plane spotting. Buffalo Niagara Airport actually is very small with 23 gates and was thought that only contain small and regional aircraft like the Erj and the a320. I sometimes see some 757s too at the airport gates but this sight was absoulty SHOCKING!

  1. Someone move to RWA please :)
  2. Wow did it fly from EWR? I wonder why they did this. I remember Delta flying 757-200 from MEM to ATL once and they usually fly the md88-95(Boeing 717)

That actually freaked me out! Did it end the landing with only a few hundred feet of the runway left?

Well that looks like a 767-400, which has a good power to weight ratio.
Buffalo has a 8800ft runway which is a good length - it could even take a lightly loaded A380!

But you’d think because the 767-400 is heavier it would use up more runway than a 767-300, right? Especially on landing. I’ve always thought of the 767-400 as almost underpowered, quite like earlier versions of the A340?

The 767-400 is a bit of an enigma. Almost a custom built model to directly replace the Continental DC10s and Delta MD11s. Those airlines got a good price to stop them wandering too close to the A330 which was a bonus.

So it has higher powered engines than the other 767s and they adjusted the flaps and slats a little - plus the raked winglets.
It takes a penalty in performance against the 767-300, but it’s nowhere as near as hindered in performance as other aircraft stretches - for example the A321 and 737-900 take a substantial it versus the A320 / 737-800 respectively.

Can’t be, it’s got blended wingtips.

KBUF has an 8800ft runway. There are cargo 762s and 763s that visit my local airport with 7600 ft runway. No problem.
