767-300ER rework that got skipped for the 737 MAX 8

Don’t make assumptions. Problem solved.

It’s like when a Beluga 3D model showed up on FR24 and because the 3D models on FR24 are made by Infinite Flight there were lots of:

OMG THE BELUGA IS COMING TO INFINITE FLIGHT!

Assumptions are the bane of this community…

Is that like the BBJ and the 737-700? It used to be two completely different aircraft but the team merged it a while ago.

Not really - the 8200 just has an extra door and more seats - the range is more or less the same.

Also for the record it won’t be a separate aircraft I’m pretty sure. It’ll just be on some liveries.

Assumptions, speculation… This is what it leads to

DISAPPOINTMENT

This is a small part of the reason why it isn’t a priority… a lot of airlines have already cut the 767 from their fleet. When considering aircraft additions and reworks, we prioritize aligning with real-world trends and looking ahead to the future. This doesn’t mean the 767 is off the table—we’ve included retired aircraft in our fleet before. However, it makes more sense to focus on modern aircraft like the 737 MAX, which will dominate the skies for years to come, before revisiting aircraft that are no longer widely in service.

We’re adding the MAX 8 which has multiple variants that we won’t be adding in addition to the -8. No need to speculate. 😄

We get it. We see the demand for the 767… We also see high demand for other aircraft types. Perhaps it will be reworked as a part of our effort to eventually rework our legacy fleet to bring aircraft up to scratch, but we have a few other aircraft we’re focused on for now. Also, I wish the A350-1000 was in development! That’s not on our radar yet.

Ah ok. So the Max 8-200 will basically be like the 737-700/BBJ. Not necessarily a completely new model but definitely has some differences from the “normal” model.

Correct. Sorta like how on the a320 where some airlines have different engines or winglet configs

United and Delta are big on 767-300ER along with ANA, JAL and handful of others. The 767-300F is also a huge part Prime Air, Atlas Air, FedEx Express, UPS, DHL along with many others. I know that because of supply chain issues airlines are currently holding on to the 767-300ERs which means we got about 3-5 years left to enjoy the type.

The 737 MAX 8 is just 1 varient of the 737 MAX series and only 2 varients are currently certified. Plus not gonna lie I don’t think any real avitation nerds actually love the sound of LEAP-1B engines. The high pitch whining is worse than a screaming baby on a long haul flight. Most aviation nerds love the sound of roaring or growling engines. People who talk about “how much they love the LEAP-1Bs or the 737 MAX Series” more than likely havs never went plane spotting in their life or watched any plane spotting videos of the 737 MAX.

I made this comparison video a while back show casing the difference in sound quality for anyone wh has truly never really plane spotted a 737 MAX and a 737 NG in their life.

Here is another video I made comparing the worst sounding engines to ever exist. This was of course during a time where i was still learning the different engines. I based this video as aircraft types and not actual engines.

Those aren’t really varients those just modifications that airlines can choose when ordering the a320s. Its the same thing with the 737NGs with scimitars they are still 737NGs varients would be like 737-900, 737-800 and 737-700. The scimitars were added to these varients later. Engine options don’t change varients either for example a 777-200ER with RRT-800s vs a 777-200ER with PW4090s vs a 777-200ER with GE-90s they are still 777-200ER there for the varient never changed.

As an aviation nerd, pilot in training, and someone who lives 5 minutes from one of the busiest airports in the world I can confirm that engine sounds is not a deciding factor on wether or not I like a plane… when I was a kid, maybe

I know

767 is currently the 2nd most in demand aircraf in IF according to almost 1700+ community votes behind the 747. I cant imagine its been taken off the table. Fingers crossed it gets done soon with a nice freighter version to go with it. In the real world, it has many many years ahead of it yet. Still in production, and 2 are being brought out of retirement by Air Canada for a short time. It would definitely be an extremely widely used aircraft in IF.

I have been going for plane spotting for 10 years and I see 737 MAX is a beautiful aircraft, plus its sound is so superior and joyful to hear. I don’t know where you get these assumptions from? As a plane spotter, I really enjoyed 737 MAX sound because the whining and roaring made it beautiful and different from older variants. This is clearly your opinion rather than a fact.
Those videos you attached are from yours too, you don’t even give us a reliable source.

Here are my MAX pictures

Speaking of sound, I am quite excited to see how the devs mixed the sound for the MAX. I would have never thought to mix the 757 with the 777 and a little bit of the F18!

I rather take it than using that old-school generic sound
