G’day IFC! In 22.3, did they update it where the 757 jetbridge goes to door L2. If not, well it just happened to me KATL today. Just my luck! :)
The jetbridge goes to the nearest door it can be assigned to. So if door L2 is closer to the jetbridge, it’ll go to that door.
This is not necessarily true. The jet bridge always trys to go to door L1, but if, for some reason, it can’t reach this door, then it goes to L2. A good example is gate 323 at terminal three at EGLL. As you can see, the Jetbridge cannot go through the building so it goes to door L2.
@Pilot_InfiniteFlight do you mind if I ask what gate at KATL this was?
A15. Now I get it. I pulled too far up. Thanks!
usually if theres more than one terminal, itll go to L2 and L1 or R1 and R2. but if not itll go to the closest door
Jet bridges never go to the closest door. They always go to L1 unless they cannot reach L1. They also never dock on the right side.
thank you for correcting me 😂.
This is actually more accurate to how it is normally done in real life. The jetbridge is normally attached to the L2 door for the 757 as well as all wide-body aircraft that have their L2 in front of the wings when using only a single jetbridge. Unfortunately, IF is not coded to do this properly yet however this is standard practice in the industry to allow first class/business class passengers to receive pre-departure service without the constant interruption of the economy class boarding process
