I am planning on doing a flight from KDFW to RKSI with the 748, and was wondering if the 748 can make it?
In the weight settings see the estimated flight time with max fuel and compare it to how long the flight usually is
I was making sure because sometimes that can be inaccurate
Yes the B747-8 can make it. You would need about 160,000kg of fuel though
The estimated flight time is just under 24 hours but it depends on winds and the weight you have
I am pretty sure that it will. The range for the 748 is 7730 nm according to Boeing, and the distance rom KDFW to RKSI is around 5945 nm.
No it isn’t the estimated flight time is 13 hours 31 minutes. I just checked
the flight time!?
@Drummer checked it
I was just looking at this image from a IFC post
Oh, I’m guessing you’re talking about the maximum flight time the 748 can handle?
Oh you were taking about the max flight time. When you said estimated flight time, it sounded like you were referring to the route
Yes, I was
Sorry about the confusion
Some of those cruise speeds are inaccurate!
I don’t know, I just saved it from a post I saw a while back
Is it? To me looks reasonable.
A A319 doesn’t cruise at M0.86
Ohh, I missed that
Yea I think that’s pretty fast for a jet like that
The Airbus speeds are wrong but the Boeing speeds are good
Oh well, anyways, your flight will most likely be successful. Try referring to the flights IRL, they’re not operated on the 748 but it will be a good source. Also try step climbing if you think it is necessary. Have a good flight!
Actually KoreanAir operates this route with a 748, but due to covid they stopped it.
