A sad one today 😥
Yesterday Cathay Pacific flew the 747 for the last time, they have now retired their fleet of 747.
Other airlines are beginning to retire their fleets of jumbo’s.
The 747 is such a great aircraft, old but perfectly fit to fly!
Cathay was the first and other airlines are begining to follow, Qantas is an example

BA has some nice 747s as well as Lufthansa!
ACTU Air France was the first of the year to retire

I think Lufthansa will keep their -8I for a few years.

Yeh, I think they will keep their fleet for a while.
However, Boeing think the production of the -8i will cease earlier than thought
I want to cry! Such a beautiful aircraft! 😞

I know, I hope I fly one before they’re completely gone

If they have kept the -400 to this day I’m sure the - 8i ain’t going nowhere :)

A sad decade is awaiting us (maybe less than a decade), when all 744 will be retired, living 748Fs and very little 748i

A couple of days ago the PH-BFK, stripped of all markings, made her last flight to Mojave.
A sad sight.
KLM will be phasing out a 747 every couple of months.
They will be gone in 2020.

The KLM livery suits the 747 so well. The 747 is such a great aircraft, will be sad to see it go
