anybody else notice that in the 737 max 8, at cruise altitude, cruise speed and at 0f/m vertical speed, the angle of attack reading says 0° even tho the nose is 3-4° up? even when on approach, the AoA reading is showing negative.
It’s normal for a plane to be slightly pitched up at cruise. 3-4° is a bit on the high side so maybe you were a bit high for your weight. Not sure about the AoA saying 0, that is a bit odd if at cruise.
i am quite heavy, since i took off at mtow, and just leveled off. but i know my actual angle of attack is around 3-4 since im leveled off, so that means the aoa reading thing on the max is 3-4 degrees inaccurate
I recognized this too, sometimes it even said -2° or - 1° although I just was perfectly straight…
I just made a quick takeoff run with the MAX, and the AoA oscilated between -3º and -4º. Tested the 737-800, and the same thing happened. Then, I tested a few non-737 aircraft, and all of them behaved properly, marking 0º.
