5 Years: Part Of The IFC Family
“Families are like branches on a tree. We grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one.”
Five years as part of the IFC family has finally arrived and I couldn’t be more grateful for finding the IFC and decided to sign up and join a family away from family all those years ago.
The friendships that I’ve made over the last 5 years have been nothing short of amazing. I appreciate all of you and even if we don’t chat or have never chatted and you’re looking at this post trying to figure out who this guy writing it is, it doesn’t matter because we’re family here on the IFC and I’m grateful for everyone on here because every single member of this community is what makes this community a community and a home away from home.
The five years that I’ve spent on the community have certainly been nothing short of exciting and interesting. When I first joined the community and the IFATC controlling team for that matter, I certainly wasn’t the most well-behaved and ended up being suspended a few times from the IFATC team as well as eventually being removed permanently from the controlling team as well as the community. I was that much of a trouble maker when I was younger and immature that my account also ended up being locked so that I could only access the casual server to fly.
I need to thank @schyllberg for dealing with me through all the support emails and for assisting me to eventually be allowed back into the community. If it wasn’t for the initial deals with Sebastian, I wouldn’t be here on the community today.
A big thank you also needs to go out to @Tyler_Shelton. Tyler, you’ve not only gave me a chance, a second chance but you gave me a third and probably a fourth chance back in the day. Thank you for the opportunities that you have provided me within IFATC and the IFC including but not limited to being a Trainer, Recruiter and a Supervisor for the IFATC controlling team where I still hold the role of Supervisor to this day. The opportunities you have provided me has taught me so much, more than I ever thought that a flight simulator community could. As silly as it may sound, this community and the opportunities provided to me have taught me so many life lessons which in turn has made me the person that I am today and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
@MishaCamp (not sure if you’ll see this as I know you’re not around much anymore on the community), but thank you for the opportunity that you provided me to serve as a moderator on his community for the period of time that I did. It was a great privilege and an honour to be in a position to ensure that this community and the IFC family runs as smoothly as possible.
And last but not least, thank you to every single community member. Everyone of all of you are unique and each of you have your own stories, personalities, likes and dislikes and this is what makes the Infinite Flight Community what it is. I’ve always thought, that if everyone was the same the world would be a very boring place.
In conclusion, I am so grateful for the 5 years I have spent as a member of the community and for the opportunities provided. They’ve made me the person I am today and the friendships I’ve made along the way is something I cherish.
Here’s to another 5 years and what the future holds!
