40000 Years of Active Users
The Infinite Flight community celebrated its 9th birthday earlier this year in May. While the big 10th anniversary year is still a few months away, we were able to celebrate a major milestone today: The 40000th anniversary badge was awarded to one of our users.
What is the anniversary badge?
The anniversary badge is granted when you’ve been a member for a year with at least one post in that year. Thank you for sticking around and contributing to our community. We couldn’t do it without you.
But what does this mean? Well, 40000 years ago, the world was a different place: It was the early beginning of the Upper Paleolithic, the last subdivision of the Old Stone Age. It is archaeological finds from this period, that have led researchers to believe that the first human settlements emerged at that time. Now, if the IFC had only one active user, this user would have had to open their account exactly during that period of time, 40000 years ago, and write at least one post every year for 40000 years to reach this milestone.
Fortunately, we have more than just one user here on the IFC, and so we were able to reach this number in just over nine years.
Thank you all for being here and making this community what it is. It really wouldn’t be the same without you.
