40 knot crosswind landing | EWR-SFO | B787-10

Yesterday I did a transcontinental flight from Newark to San Francisco in a United 787-10. On approach into SFO the wind was literally 19 knot winds with 23 knot gusts which created a roughly 40 knot crosswind for me land in.

Nice! IRL they would have diverted - as I don’t think the 787 is certified to land in 40kt crosswinds.

Thanks. You are right, the max amount of wind is 35 knots for 787
