The Wisconsin propaganda likes to say that they have more than Minnesota (15,074). What they don’t say is that that is every lake in the state, regardless of size. In Minnesota, the 11,842 number is only lakes over ten acres. If we used the same metric as Wisconsin, we have a whopping 21,871 named lakes. That’s one lake for every 274 Minnesotans.
