Hello everyone while flying time to time I felt the need of these 3 missing features in Communications screen
1) Progressive Taxi “Request” or requesting custom taxiways:
Some airports are so big with complex taxiways and if someone is new to the airport, it takes a lot of time to do the taxi. There is a pink line that the controller assigns sometimes, but it doesn’t happen all the time. I think we should be able to request Progressive Taxi or we should be able to choose different taxiways and let them know how we prefer to do the taxi, they can approve or not but we would let them know in this way… This is very useful if certain taxiway is so busy, or too narrow/difficult for the airplane.
2) Traffic Alert: A feature to take other pilot’s and controllers attention. Sometimes if you’re flying in congested air traffic, controllers are busy with 400 - 500 aircrafts, and it happened me a few times that another airplane did a near miss or on the ground, some people pass inside of your airplane. Especially for ground, I had to reach to the ATC in DM so they could see what’s happening. Currently, only the controllers can say “Traffic Alert” but pilots cannot make the warning.**
- DM Option:** This is also important, if for any sort of reason we use DM using IFC, we should be able to let the ATC know that we sent them a message so they can check their IFC Inbox or Discord… Check your DM option would solve a lot of problems. Some ATC’s are able to answer immediiately, but not everyone checks their messages while controlling. This would reduce violation reports, or special cases, let them know about some issues etc. This would also simulate the pilot deviation problem that happens in real life where the controller shares a phone number to future discuss about some issues in real life. This can be included in all ATC frequencies.
EXTRA: Clearance: This has been requested before, but just wanted to mention again because it is very important.
